Cooking for one

Set yourself a target of two new meals each week. It is so easy to fall back into a monotonous diet if you have only yourself to feed. Almost all the starch and protein meals can be cooked in the proportions for four people, and the remainder frozen as single portions for later use. Do make sure that all containers are very clearly labelled and dated.

Fresh vegetables are easily prepared in small quantities, and you need only take the amount you need from frozen packets of vegetables. These offer high quality food at very reasonable prices.

Give yourself time to sit and enjoy your meal, and treat it as a period for relaxation.
