Getting Started - Changing your diet

Food Combining is designed to improve your quality of life. It is not a penance that you should endure. It will keep you alert and fit and following it should not make you anxious and worried.

Any move towards the Food Combining lifestyle will help you improve your health and fitness. It is not an all or nothing diet, and it doesn't have to be adopted in full all at once.

It's even better if you don't change too quickly! The digestive system needs time to adapt to the new improved regime and to new foods. But start by reducing your consumption of sugar / fat mixtures such as biscuits, cake and pastry, and replace them with fresh fruit.

Try not to eat until you are hungry, don't eat out of habit, and don't eat everything just because it is offered to you. Drink whenever you are thirsty, clean water is always the best way to quench a thirst.

The next step is to reduce your intake of concentrated protein - meat, fish, cheese, beans to just one meal a day.

Slowly increase the amount of exercise that you take. It need only be by a couple of minutes each day.

Some foods require an acid environment and some foods require an alkaline environment. I think gastic or acid enzymes. If I am working on keeping my system alkaline, opposed to acid for healths sake.

What am I to eat with what?

I tested my saliva this morning, it is alkaline, I did not know what to eat with coleslaw at lunch, so I just age it alone.

Please make it more simple. I need 'examples of meals' that go together for combining the right foods for digesting.

Thank you very much.

Carolyn
