Picnics and children's party ideas

Starch based meals are easiest to prepare in advance. Almost any recipe could be used - it depends on what the children prefer!

The simplest ideas are often the best.

  • Bread or rolls and butter

  • Wide range of salad and crudities

  • Starch or oil sauces and dips

  • Wide range of fresh fruit

  • Dairy ice cream

Barbecue

The Australian style barbie which uses a thick, solid steel plate over the flames is much easier to use than the wire mesh grills through which the flames burn the meat.

A plentiful supply of meat plus protein sauces and dips can be accompanied by vegetable kebabs
