We parked at the back of the car park at Buckfast Abbey, but ask permission before you start a group walk here.

This is a 9 mile walk with a steady climb up onto the moor and a mostly steady descent back.

There is rather more walking on country lanes than I like, but the views are excellent. A mixture of lanes, woodland and moorland with a lovely picnic site at Chalk Ford - where there is a good footbridge.

Note the pictures of the adder that was spotted at Chalk Ford.
