This is a 9.5 mile walk starting from the car park at Venford Reservoir. There are toilets here.
The path follows the Holne Moor Leat, until it meets the track down to Combestone Farm. Then back out onto the moor, follow the track up hill, south to the road and have a look at the rocks at Combestone Tor.

Follow the road west until it forks above Forest Inn, then take the Henroost track heading south east diagonally up the hillside. This track later curves south west to the mine workings at Hooten Wheals. We followed the stream down from here until a track heads uphill due east to Horn's Cross on the ridge. We followed the track south here to meet the top of the Sandy Way track, then heading north of east down the ridge, with views of Venford reservoir on our left. This becomes a gravel track back to the paved road. We kept on the moor to the side of the road back to the reservoir.
