in the snow - Le Bettex, France
Snow walking at Le Bettex in France.
Le Bettex was an excelent base for walking, up in the clean mountain air ( we could see the haze of pollution in the valley below at St Gervais ). There were pisted tracks for cross country skiers and walkers running fairly level in both directions across the mountainside. The views were fabulous:
These level trails run from Le Bettex to St Nicolas de Veroce
and to the midstation of the Princess gondola, then on to Megeve in the opposite direction.
The group went up the mountain on the gondola and walked along the top ridges, both from Freddy, and from the top of Rochebrune
Walking down a green run is not quite so easy - and not allowed when the pistes are busy.
