It is difficult to think of a geological process that has created these
plumes.
But these could be spore clouds from an organism growing partly burried
in the soil of Mars.

but these fields of plumes suggest a much more biological origin.
In the photo below a network is clearly visible, and the plumes clearly
have their origin in this network.
