HTML>If your weight is static on your present regime, you are almost there! If you are now taking more exercise than you did before, you will be building more healthy muscle and this will keep your weight static initially.

Look next at the amount of saturated fat you eat - meat fat, margarine, including that in any cakes, biscuits, sweets like chocolate and simply cut back on these.

You should then be moving into slow weight loss. Aim for a slight loss every month over a year or more.

hi peter. thanks for the reply. i am eating very meat and hardly and fat at all. my meals are right on the mark when it comes to eating. i am not eating and sugars except a small amount of sucanant sugar, bagel and cereal throughout the day, with tofutti cr cheese. iam eating my fruits and vegetables throughout the day andsmall amount of protein. so this is what i am eating. it is hard for me to give up coffee,i am having about 3 cups in the a.m. and 8 glasses of water a day. i also wonder is pumpkin a starch or vegetable? thank you. linda traen

The question as to whether pumpkin is a vegetable., there are, of course, lists, but the thing that settles the matter for me is if it gives me acid reflux or gas when its eaten alone, or in pie - w/o egg.

Hi Linda,

you shouldn't exercise everyday as your'e body needs time to recover from the previous days exercise...this lets your'e body bulid muscle to adjust to your'e new
exercise regime, this in itself burns calories.
So the general rule is workout one day and rest the next

Re starch or vegetable  Posted by Adam
Hi Linda
You should be exercising everyday if its only walking, you only need a day to recover if your doing weight lifting exercises, slow cardio exercises such as walking burn calories and some fat, fast cardio such as running at fast pace would burn calories but more fat also, 100g of pumpkin has only 26 calories, 0 fat 6.5g of carbs (1.4g of sugars) and 1g protein, so pumpkin is a complex carb and should not be taken with protein on this diet if you eating more than 100g of pumpkin
also try to cut the cheese out of your diet if your still stuck at your current weight and make sure you have fat free milk, i say this because cheese and half/full fat milk has alot of saturates and those fats are hard to burn off in the day and usually end up as body fat, try to eat more mono-unsaturated fats (such as olive oil, flaxxseed/oil and almonds
this will break down more fat and help you on your way
even if progress is slow hang in there because you will see results
with the coffee situation dont worry about that but make sure that after you have had your 3 cups of coffee you force yourself to drink a litre of water to re-hydrate because if you are dehydrated your wont be able to rid itself of fat as easy, lots of water it key to flushing fat from the system, good luck adam
