LISTS? - STARCHES/PROTEIN

I NOTICED THROUGH OUT MANY OF THE THREADS, YOU ADVISE PEOPLE NOT TO PAY ANY MIND TO "LISTS" OF ALKALINE AND ACIDIC FOODS.
BUT ARENT THESE LISTS WHAT YOU USE TO KNOW WHAT TO PROPERLY COMBINE?
THEY SAY THAT DARK GREENS WANT A MORE ALKALINE ENVIRONMENT TO BREAKDOWN IN AND PROTEINS GENERALLY WANT AN ADICIDIC ENVIRONMENT TO BREAKDOWN IN, BUT IF YOU MIX THE 2 YOU END UP WITH PROBLEMS.
BUT THEN I SEE YOU TELLING PEOPLE TO EAT DARK GREENS WITH THEIR MEAT.?
I AM A LITTLE CONFUSED.

#2 - IF STARCHES ARE CONSIDERED "ACIDIC", WHY CAN THEY NOT BE EATEN WITH PROTEIN(RICE/SUSHI - BURGERS) WOULDENT THEY WANT THE SAME TYPE OF ENVIRONMENT TO BREAKDOWN IN ??

If you trace the idea of acid and alkaline foods back through the literature, you will find that it was first proposed in a book by a journalist who did not understand Dr Howard Hay's reference to the alkaline earth elements.
These books suggested that some foods were 'alkaline' and some were 'acid' and they should not be mixed. But the lists that were produced bore no relationship to the chemicals in the food, or the enzymes that digest them. They were a complete fabrication.
Dr Howard Hay, who first proposed this diet, suggested separating meals that were predominantly starch from those that were predominantly protein. He found that this method restores our normal appetite mechanisms that encourage us to eat the right amounts of the food that we need. He also found that this also improved the digestion of food.
Dr Howard Hay also recommended that we eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables (The foods rich in the alkaline earth elements - a scientific term not now in common use )
I prefer to follow the advice of Dr Howard Hay, that is easy to follow and produces excellent results for many people.
