On the fats list it says that milk can be combined with any meal, is this right? There is an * by it, but it doesn't say what that means. Can you please let me know. I am new to this program, and I want it to work for me.

Hi,

I think I am right in saying that, strictly speaking, you shouldn't really mix milk with either protein or starch - something to do with the acid I think. Milk should really be combined with an alkaline meal - preferably a fruit meal.

I have been using soya milk with my cereals (I've just discovered millet rice - its delicious). Soya milk takes a bit of getting used to but its fine once you've adapted.

Food Combining encourages you to construct a diet without using the highly refined foods like cake, biscuits etc that often include milk products.

Some people who cannot use milk are having problems with the lactose, and can eat pure low fat yogurts, where the bacteria have removed all the lactose.

If you remove all milk products from your diet you must add calcium tablets - it is almost impossible to get enough calcium from other foods

Just wondering if it is allowed to mix soy milk with any sort of food, as is the case with most vegetables. I have read in a Habgood's book that soya was not concentrated protein food and that it is ok to mix soy milk with wheat and banana for breakfast so I've been doing so accordingly, up until now that is. Thanks!

Tofu is the protein extracted from the soya bean and is a very concentrated form of protein.

If this is mixed with water to form soya milk, then it depends very much on how concentrated the milk is, and how much you use at a meal.
If you are using a lot at a meal then count it as a protein, but if it is only a tiny proportion of a meal then you can count it as a vegetable. Remember that all vegetables include a small amount of protein.

The food combining is an aid to a healthy diet, but we are all different, and react in different ways to our food.

If your diet is keeping you healthy and fit, then you are doing it right. Don't worry if others do it differently.

If you eat a lot of soy butter / cheese with a lot of bread then that is not healthy! But a little soy milk on cereal is not a problem.

Milk is BAD for your body. People say that its good for you and a source of calcium, but the calcium that is in milk, especially cow milk, the stomach does not use. Its a DEAD food. If you want calcium, I suggest to ingest Coral Calcium.

It is my understand that the ability to digest milk, in adult humans, due the enzymes no longer being produced, has ceased to function by the age of 12-14. Therefore, milk and your ability to digest is nil. For Calcium intake, perhaps investigate seseme seeds. Please conside the ability to absorb nutrients and that is not a singular but a combination of other nutrients etc that are complementry

You might want to try goats milk, it might work for you. I have a number of food allergies and I find food combining helps on a lot of levles. I have lost 6.5 lbs in 2 weeks, have less digestive problems, alot more energy and require less sleep

i used the SO GOOD soya milk for approx 4 weeks and came out with a serious skin condition on my neck and face. I would wake up in the morning and find layers of skin on my pillow. My neck and face were swollen badly and my neck had open wounds as if it had been slashed with a razor.

Steriod cream cleared it up initially but the problem keeps coming back even though i have stopped using the product. I have been told that the skin is infected and may stay like this permanently

SO GOOD.................SO CRAP

Rice Dream is mostly water, with 5.4\% carbohydrate and 4\% sugar.

In the food combining diet this would be classed as a carbohydrate. But note the high sugar levels. This is not suitable for a weight loss diet. You would do better to get you added calcium from calcium tablets, without the sugar.
