My 19 year old daughter became a vegatarian about six moths ago. She now has bad spots on her face and despite trying various creams and supplements but to no avail.
Can anyone suggest a remedy.
Thanks

There are several possibilities here. A 19 year old girl can develop spots, unrelated to any change in diet.

However, where spots develop shortly after a change in diet, the possibility that this change in diet is causing the spots should be considered.

The spots may develop as a result of the change in diet causing a lack of some vitamins, minerals, or low general nutrients.

There is also the possibility that some of the foods that she is now eating instead of meat might be causing the problem.

A change to a diet high in soya can cause this problem, or an increase in wheat in the diet can also cause a problem.

If at all possible, a change back to her previous diet for six months would help establish whether the diet is causing the problems, or some other factor.
