Riding the Tornado

Paths to Fusion Power

Introduction

The charge sheath vortex theory was first proposed by Peter Thomson to explain how a tornado forms, and why it is so destructive. This theory then provides a solid scientific base to understand a number of other natural phenomena such as ball lightning. The charged sheath vortex that is common to the core of all these phenomena is also the key to a fusion containment system.

1 ) Two stationary particles carrying the same electrical charge will repel each other, but within an electric field they will form dipoles that will experience an attractive force.
2 ) In a large charge cloud where the repulsion between the charges is the same in all directions, this force will cancel out

3 )  Two streams of dipoles with the same field charge  moving in parallel in a large charge cloud will also develop a force of attraction through their electromagnetic interaction.

The basic electromagnetic theory of the charge sheath in plasma

This theory of the tornado is based entirely on conventional physics, and can be understood by anyone who has ever played with an electromagnet!

There are several fusion systems under development that may be producing these tornado vortex structures. Understanding just why these structures show traces of fusion should allow the rapid development of cheap and light fusion power.

There are a multitude of experiments already published on plasma structures that provide detailed support for these theories.

This is an elegant and simple theory that shows how a tornado forms, and why it is so destructive.  The theory also makes predictions about the magnetic fields produced on the ground by a tornado, and the extension of a tornado upwards into a storm cloud.

The theory explains how movement of simple electric charge and the conservation of rotational energy in a thunderstorm lead to the development of a tornado. The theory proposes a structure which maintains the shape of the tornado tube. A charged sheath vortex.

3 )  Two streams of dipoles with the same field charge  moving in parallel in a large charge cloud will also develop a force of attraction through their electromagnetic interaction.

If such a charged tube is spun faster and faster it holds itself together with greater and greater force. The same structure can account for all the observed properties of ball lightning. This is the ideal containment for fusion generator. The literature of fusion research contains descriptions of such structures developing in turbulent plasma chambers ( when they were not wanted!), and in dense plasma focus devices, where a charged sheath develops and fusion may occur.

The scientific world has developed a system of peer review and fear of change / job protection that hinders the publication of ideas that may overturn accepted theories. Many of the observations that are linked by this single, elegant theory have been relegated to the fringes of science as unexplainable. This theory shows that they have a single common physical structure, easily explained by conventional science, but overlooked because of the way our science today is compartmentalised.

When you have studied the pages you are welcome to join the discussion, but please note that any claims you make for or against these theories should be backed by scientific reasoning that can be developed from first principles.
