This path starts from the top of the Ahorn gondola and crosses the high alpine valleys at about the snow line visible in these pictures, before dropping down a valley directly below the peak of the Ahornspitze. This picture taken with the evening light from the Hotel Alpina in Schwendau.

We were there last week. One of the waiters is english and has to walk from the cablecar and back every day as there is no other access.
