Gerlos Isskogelbahn Gondelbahn Rosenalm Zell am Ziller Tirol Austria

Author: Peter () Email: Date: 2008/August/12 This is a gentle 9 mile walk along a track that contours round the mountains. We had an early start to catch the Gerlos bus from the main street at Ramsau - as far as the Isskogelbahn. From the top of the bahn the tracks are nothing like that shown on the map. Look at the map for this walk and zoom in on the satellite image to see which tracks to take. Follow the track up from the gondola top station, signed to Isskogel, Just below the reservoir is a left junction signed to Innertensalm. This is a track all the way and good for cyclists. It descends a couple of bends before heading west round the mountain. There are more side tracks than shown on the map - but take the track that goes straight on and level most of the time. It passes through steep emadows and scattered woodland with some ancient gnarled pine trees. Flowers are abundant alongside the track. Several streams cross the track and would not be easy to cross in very wet weather or rapid snow melt. Just before the Kreuzwiesenhutte take the right upper fork signed to Rosenalm. Eventually a path leaves this trackon the left signed to the Rosenalm, which is alongside the gondola top station.
