Hotel Alpina Schwendau Mayrhofen Zillertal Austria

Author:  Peter  () Email:  Date:   2007/June/22 The Hotel Alpina proved to be an excellent base for our walking holiday. It is family run, and everyone was very helpful and friendly. The Inghams guests had a choice of three set meals for the evening meal each day, with an extensive salad bar with most choices. I have a gluten-free diet and took along a list of what I could eat and what I couldn't eat translated into German. I had excellent meals and no mistakes. The restaurant is also open to other visitors, and often they would order the same as they could see us eating. Breakfast was based around fresh rolls, fresh homemade butter ( from the family farm), cheese,cold meat, boiled eggs, with breakfast cereals and fruit juice. I had fruit and hot rice for my special diet, so no problems again. My single room had a comfortable bed, TV, table, chair and wardrobe ensuit shower and WC, plus a balcony.
