Coast Path Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door

You get the best view of Lulworth Cove from up here,

Just inside the ranges, follow the path down to the cliff, and climb down to look at the fossil forest.

The cliff behind is also fscinating, as a thick layer of hard rock shows a dramatic horizontal fault line - where the strata above have moved over the rock below. It looks like a recent slip, but every bit is hard rock!

Looking back over the cove at Lulworth village. The main tourist path is the broad white line up the hill, but it is worth going up the path through the trees to the left, and then a steep climb up to the tourist path.

The arch of Durdle Door

Looking west along the coast. The cliff edge path is hard work as it rises and falls steeply. A much gentler path follows the coast slightly inland. Weymouth and the Isle of Portland in the distance.
