Porlock Weir to Minehead

We started at Porlock Weir. Our coach got down to turn - only just - but there is a local service bus down to help make this a linear walk. 10 miles to Minehead by the route we took.

The path starts by running through the edge of woodland heading towards Porlock Village.

You can see the route ahead running along a line of trees on the other side of the bay, and then running back right from just before the headland up a steep hill.

This path is well signposted - there are lots of alternative routes.

An attractive modern bridge over the stream as the path leaves the village. We turned left over the bridge.

Reaching the top of the only steep hill up on this section.

We took the path left just before the beacon.

And then headed down at this sign - towards the harbour at Minehead.

This is a good track gently dropping down the side of a steep wooded hillside.

The path finally zig-zags down steeply to come out at this monument to the coast path.
