8.5 miles

Malham Tarn car park - free (rather rough!) Follow Pennine Way south to Mallam Cove,

The limestone pavement on top of the cove>

steps down to the Cove,

And look at the water flowing out from the base of the cliff.

south to Mallam village,

continue south on Pennine Way, then turn east on path signed to Gordale.

Above Janet's cave and waterfall,

briefly continue on road before turning through campsite to Gordale Scar.

Walk right up the waterfall base, but path is almost impassable at the moment.

Return through campsite and take path west that climbs through fields, signposted to Mallam Cove.

Cross the Mallam rakes road and continue until you can look down into Mallam cove again.

Now head north to the old track (path) that leads up trougate. When in site of the carpark continue on path northeast and head down to mallam Tarn beside a small woodland.

Follow the shore of the Tarn south back to the car park.
