Walking in Winter Snow Wengen Switzerland

Get the funicular up from Lauterbrunnen to Grutschalp, but don't get on the train at the top. The path starts here, and is mostly level towards Murren.

There is good access to restaurants today - particularly ones with spectacular views in Murren.

This picture is a view of Murren and the Schilthorn taken from Mannlichen.

At Murren you can take the funicular up to Allmendhubel and walk back down into Murren.

You cannot get up the Schiltgrat chair with a walkers pass even though a walking path is shown coming back from the top. We declined to walk up and back.

From Murren look for the path signed down to Gimmelwald. Steady downhill with good views.

Get the big gondola down from Gimmelwald and the bus back from Stechelberg to Lauterbrunnen.

You get excellent close views of the cliff walls from the gondola. There are paths down the valley away from the road, but it was getting dark by the time we got down.
